Taylor PTA welcomes parents and incoming 6th graders for the 2025–2026 school year.
Incoming 6th graders will take these steps before their first day of school on August 14:
Attend Taylor Info Night March 19th, 5:45 PM in the Taylor auditorium.
Parents get informed about the optional Summer Bridge Program and what to expect in 6th grade.

June 16–July 3 (no school on June 19), 8:35 AM–12:30 PM
Join us April 25th, 8:30 AM at Lomita Park Elementary School. We’ll share info about Taylor Bridge Program and other summer programs. Enjoy coffee and donuts while learning about each program’s focus, who it’s designed for, and key dates. MESD staff will be available to explain student eligibility and guide you through the registration process.

If your student is enrolled in Taylor Bridge Program, they have the option of attending Happy Hall on June 16–July 11; attending Happy Hall requires enrollment into Taylor Bridge Program. Taylor Bridge Program students who qualify for UPP (Unduplicated Pupil Percentage) status may attend Happy Hall for no cost. See Happy Hall flyer by logging into ParentSquare. Happy Hall enrollment ended May 2.
Attend Taylor Open House today, 6 PM–7 PM.
Visit classrooms and talk to teachers. Taylor Music’s concert band will perform in the auditorium from 6 PM–6:20 PM and the strings band will perform immediately after. Taylor Drama Llamas will perform in D1.
Pick an elective. Elective is randomly assigned, except for students who pick a music elective.
August 7: attend Welcome Day and buy a PE uniform. Time not yet finalized.
Incoming 6th graders will get student-led tours and check out school clubs.
First day of Taylor is August 14th, 8:35 AM and early dismissal at 12:18 PM. See the 2025-2026 calendar.
Class schedules will be posted to ParentVue on August 13, and paper schedules distributed near the front door on August 14, starting at 8 AM.
Individual teachers hand out list for classroom supplies during the first week of school. However, if you want to get started prior to that time, pens, paper, pencils, etc. are always needed at school. Students will have some time to get supplies for classes.
Primary pick-up and drop-off zone is the parking lot on Taylor Blvd. near the intersection of Minorca Wy., Camino Alto, and Taylor Blvd. Backup pick-up and drop-off zones are:
Shea Center’s traffic circle at end of Minorca Wy.
white zone on Taylor Blvd. in front of school (U-turn and three-point turns not legal here)
District Office’s parking lot off Richmond Dr.
The Millbrae Recreation Center is not a pick-up nor drop-off zone.
